Jan 25-28 (no class Friday Jan 29) Term Project Presentations/History of Punctuation/History of Forbidden Vernacular/Text to Film Misrepresentation/Tech Film Assessments

Mon:  Term Project Presentations - for each - review and update re: edits provided during presentations. Please take suggested edits, make edits, then submit for final mark within Teams. Time for any make up work in Teams. Laptop Cart is with Mrs. VB.  Mini Budget Project - to add to your Term Project - upload to your Onedrive & Teams.  Netflix- Connections - Surveillance. 45 min. Tues:   Presentations: Hailey, Sophia, Rogan, Tyler.  The History Of ^%$& words. A Netflix Review. Class discussion re: a summative assessment re: the history of these various words.  3 x 20 min. = 2 hours.  Question: Do you agree that these words will become part of our everyday vernacular? Term Project Work Time Jan 18 + 19 + 20 Re: Assign 18 Teams  Dustin - The Great Hack - Netflix Thursday Jan 21 -  Intro:  A documentary about the rise and fall of 'Cambridge Analytica,' the British consulting company that fed the online Trump propaganda machine and was also linked to affecting the results and outcome regarding Brexit.  "The Great Hack" a documentary about data-mining, fake-news propaganda, and the 2016 election. (Trump).  Highlights: Cambridge Analytica not only got the data that the public shared on social media, but according to the terms of their EULA ( end-user license agreement) , they also were able to scrape data from the public profiles of a user’s social graph. That distinction may seem fine, but the company was able to use that data to build out psychological profiles of the American voter (possibly and most likely significantly affecting the 2016 US Election outcomes in favour of Trump). Intro to Novel Study - Into The Wild. “ Into the Wild ” acknowledges big problems in today's society, and forces you to look deeply for them. Released in 2007 by director Sean Penn, the biographical  film  still has major relevance in today's world, nine years later, by presenting the idea of living simply and appreciating what has been given to you. 5. Jan 4 2021 Welcome Back + Teams Assignments Review/Catch Up + Less Is Now Viewing & Discussion.

Attendance.  1. Welcome Back & Updated & Reaffirming Covid19 Classroom Protocols. *Masks on at all times with exception of at desk (if desired). I would recommend wearing your masks at all times unless eating or drinking. *Anytime you are moving within the classroom, doing group work, cleaning etc. - masks are ON! *Updated requirement to remain seated in your rows  until dismissed  in rows. No getting up and bunching near doors prior to departure. *NO moving around the room to sit near friends unless working in groups re: assigned work - then masks on.  *NO friends to visit the classroom at breaks. Please let them know. *To remain cleaning our space - desks and chairs - prior to departure.  2.
